Social Smørrebrød

Social Smørrebrød

enough for a group

I like the idea of a DIY Smørrebrød sideboard—or Social Smørrebrød. The following suggested spreads, meats, vegetables, and cheeses can be prepped and arranged on a platter, and placed alongside a basket of your pre-sliced pumpernickel bread. Guests create their own individual sandwiches.

Meats and Fish

Smoked trout

Gravlax (salt-cured salmon)

Black Forest ham

Prosciutto

Salami

Hard-boiled eggs

Spreads

Really good Danish butter

Grainy mustard

Fresh Goat Cheese

Homemade mayonnaise

Vegetables

Thinly-sliced roasted beets

Cucumbers

Pickled red onions

Dill

Cheese

Cave-aged Gruyère

Shaved Parmesan

Sharp orange cheddar

Assemble on a board or platter
