In a small saucepan, bring water and salt to a boil. Lower heat to medium-low, stir in oats, and continue to gently stir until oats reach a thick soup consistency, about 10–15 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a small sauté pan over very low flame, gently heat berries for 3–5 minutes. If using frozen, cook until berries become just a bit saucy. If using fresh, just heat until warm, then mash gently.
When oats have thickened, add butter, egg yolks, and maple syrup or honey, and stir until fully combined. Remove from heat. Pour into a medium-sized bowl; top with gently warmed berries, chopped nuts, and ground black sesame if using. Enjoy immediately!
