Spicy Strawberry Mignonette

Offering a twist on a traditional mignonette adds extra flair to your raw bar

The end of June celebrates strawberry and oyster season, so it is natural to make a Spicy Strawberry Mignonette to play off the sea-sweetness of your favorite oyster. Chef Josh recommends freezing berries before using; they will help keep the oysters ice cold.

Ingredients

  • 6 in-season strawberries chopped
  • 1 Thai Chili diced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro chopped
  • ¼ cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ lemon juiced

Instructions

  • Toss all ingredients in a bowl until they get to know each other, and serve with fresh Maine oysters, like the delicious ones from Mere Point!
