A beloved local staple in Portland’s Old Port, Liquid Riot, is set to undergo a transformation under new ownership. Michael Fraser, a well-known figure in the Portland food and beverage scene, has acquired the brewpub and distillery, promising to usher in an era of innovation and reinvention with the launch of Camp Pennant.
Originally founded in 2013 by Eric Michaud as In’finiti and later rebranded to Liquid Riot in 2015, this waterfront spot has been a fixture for craft beer and spirits enthusiasts. Michaud, also the founder of Novare Res, established a strong legacy in the community. Now, under Fraser’s vision, the establishment is poised for a refreshing change. Fraser, who also owns several other popular Portland eateries such as Roma, Bramhall, and Nosh, plans to revamp the menu and introduce a new line of products under the Pennant Brewing and Distilling brand.
This new chapter for the iconic location reflects Portland’s dynamic and evolving culinary landscape, where tradition meets contemporary tastes. Patrons can expect a new array of beers and spirits that promise to captivate both old fans and new visitors. As Camp Pennant prepares to open its doors, it is set to continue Portland’s rich tradition of craft brewing with a fresh twist.
